Information for Law Enforcement
AtheistOnly cooperates with valid law enforcement requests under United States law. This page explains how agencies can submit a request, what information we hold, and how urgent situations are handled.
How we handle requests
We review every request we receive and respond to those that come from law enforcement or government agencies and meet applicable legal requirements. Responses may be provided voluntarily for routine matters, or as required by a subpoena, court order, or search warrant depending on the type of information sought. We handle each matter in good faith under United States law.
How to submit a request
Requests should be sent by email from an official agency email address to the contact address below. Please include: the requesting officer and agency, a case or incident reference, a clear description of the specific information or records sought, the username or identifying details of the account involved, the relevant time period, the legal basis for the request, and where to send our response.
What information we hold
AtheistOnly holds member account details (such as email address and birthdate), profile information provided by members, messages exchanged between matched members, uploaded photographs, and records of reports and moderation actions. Data may be limited if a member has deleted their account or modified their profile. We do not release member information to private individuals; reports from members are handled through our moderation process.
Emergency situations
For situations involving imminent danger of death or serious physical injury, mark your request as an EMERGENCY in the subject line and describe the immediate harm. We give these requests priority attention and respond as quickly as we reasonably can.
Child safety
AtheistOnly strictly prohibits content involving minors. Where the law requires it, suspected child exploitation material is reported to the appropriate authorities and preservation requests are honored under applicable law.
Notice to members
Unless the law prohibits us from doing so, we may notify affected members when their information is disclosed in response to a request. Questions about this page can be sent to the contact address below.
